News:
2-13-03  Colonel Moses from Minimum Rage has a great interview with David Anthony (David Stay for SAG purposes), who played Mandarr in the Photon TV Series from the 80's.  He also has a gallery of extremely cool images that were taken on the set.  Go check this out if you were a fan of the show, it's really groovy!

Also, Lilking has all the Photon tracks from the original game online, go get em!

1-11-03 Wow, long time no updates!  I've moved the site yet again to a subdomain of tripod.  Hopefully it will reside here happily for all eternity.  Tripod provides 1GB/month transfer, and that should be enough considering how little traffic this particular site gets.  I guess we'll see.

Banz's MP2's are down of the full Photon Soundtrack.  I knew it wouldn't last forever.  For those still looking for the soundtrack and unable to contact Hasty Pete, I have posted a single high quality MP3 track on the multimedia page.  Wish I had more space, I'd post them all.  This track is probably the most popular, and the one most people will remember who played the game.

5-2-02 Well, our old buddy Steve Mavronis is back online.  He is currently tweaking the Unreal Photon map, and has finished bot pathnoding so you can play a good single player game now.  Download the new beta and check out the updates so far.   He may possibly start work on an even more sophisticated version when the Unreal2 Engine debuts, which is great news.  Good to see you back Steve!  :)

P.S.  Also wanted to thank Steve for the ultra-cool background wav snippet of the authentic Photon Soundtrack (playing in the background).  Pretty groovy eh?  Get the entire soundtrack in the multimedia section.

1-31-02 Nightstormer Productions has it's own domain now.

11-25-01 Once again added the DM-Photon504 map for download.  This Alpha map for Unreal Tournament is the one that includes the lobby and parking lot, and is probably the best for a walk-through.  I meant to put it up earlier, but hey, I'm lazy.  :)  Get it now right here!

10-2-01  Long time since last update, but there's really nothing much going on in the Photon world.  I updated the website, and now you can download the Unreal Photon and Doom Photon maps directly from this site since Steve's site went down.  Looks like XPLasersport is having a "Reunion Tournament" Oct. 27 - 29th.  Sure would be nice to make it, but I'm not holding my breath.  If anyone attends, could you please contact me with results and possibly photos?

Also, a very strange thing seems to be happening at the old Photon web address.   Can't say for sure what's going on, but for several years the old Photon URL was totally defunct, and now we have this nebulous little page there.  Someone let me in on the secret please!

3-27-01  Kristen (Nova) once again sent in a booty load of her personal collection of Photon images, so check them out in the Multimedia section!  She has quite an amazing collection of Photon related stuff, and she likes to share!  Thanks again Kristen, keep em coming!  ;*)

12-6-00  New link, this one to George Carter's Website about Photon!   Not much about it really (just a couple of pictures), but browse his site for information about the man behind the game. *For those of you not in the know, GC was the inventor of Photon, and opened the very first center in Dallas in 1984.

10-2-00  Chilandra is currently working on Laser Tales and Sports: The Newsletter, so send her any submissions that you would like to published.  Here are the guidelines for submissions.  It is going to be a quarterly newsletter for those interested in Photon and Lasertag, so lets all help her in making this a success!  And don't forget to join her Photon TV Show mailing list!

8-30-00  Kristen sent in a whole slew of cool pics!   She used to play at the Warren, Michigan center, and has quite a collection of obscure Photon memorabilia.  Gotta love the pencil, I wonder how many of those are still out there?  And I have seen plenty of Photon lunchboxes, but the lunchBAG is nearly non-existent.  She also says she has more of the same, so check back soon to see what else she sends me!  Thanks a ton Kristen!  =)

8-29-00  I want to give a huge THANKS! to James Taylor, who single-handedly helped make my Photon T.V. series complete.  Your the coolest James, sorry to hear about the death of your BETA VCR!

8-15-00 GREAT pics sent in by Ed Cook of the New Orleans Photon, thanks Ed!  This Photon Alpha arena is actually still used daily and nearly completely original and intact.  They use VeQtor equipment, and the place is now called Lazer Tag metarieltag.jpg (47365 bytes)(original, huh?).  It would probably be worth checking out if you are in the area just for the arena.  Here's a link to their website.

7-30-00 Interested in the Photon TV Series?  You gotta check out Mark's Photon site!  Definitely the best site on the net concerning this extremely difficult to find series (it was never released on video).

7-19-00 (5:25am)  Yeah, so I'm up late again!  Check out some new links I posted.  Also, Christopher Brewer sent me his ultra-cool Photon Dossier image!  Thanks!

7-15-00 (4:57am)  What the heck am I still doing up?  Working on the site ofcourse! Check out the new Photon Patch jpeg in the multimedia section, submitted by Sam Prus - Thanks Sam!  And it has recently come to my attention that the Photon graphics at the top of the page are skewed when viewed with Netscape.  I can't help this, as I use tables formatting in Frontpage98 for all my sites, and it doesn't seem to be completely compatible with Netscape.  I'm sure there are other problems with the site when viewed with a browser other than Internet Exploder *sigh*

6-22-00  Xp has a new look!  Check out their new website.

5-10-00  Information on the May 2000 Tournament is now available.

5-2-00  You may have noticed the site has undergone a rennovation as of late. Originally designed to be a dedication to the Photon here in Houston which closed in 1986, I have expanded the scope to include news of XPLasersport.  Hopefully XP (ex-photon, get it?) will continue and prosper, and maybe once again we can have "Photon" to play at multiple venues.  I plan to put up lots of old pictures on the "Pics" page soon.  If you have some good .gifs or .jpgs related to photon,  and want them displayed here, please send them to me!  I will give you full credit, ofcourse.  =)

I  am especially interested in the original instructional movie played in the little briefing theater at Photon centers for newbies.  If you have this on video, please let me know!  I want to put it in .mov format on this site.  Maybe we can make some sort of trade...

4-22-00  Steve Mavronis has a new Unreal Tournament Photon level BETA ready for testing - download it after reading the Review

EXTRA!  Hasty Pete has mastered the Photon Soundtrack from Target's soundfiles onto anphotoncd.jpg (18529 bytes) Enhanced CD-R!  These are the tracks as played during a game of Photon back in the good old days.  No Old Time Photon Warrior should be without this nearly impossible to find soundtrack, as well as all the extras that Pete includes on the CD. These include a nifty Photon Themes pack with sounds, all sampled pod sounds, pictures, memorabilia, movies, and more.  Get one while they are available!  Email Hasty Pete for more info, he's a heck of a nice guy and will burn you a copy pronto.
